Friday, June 28, 2013, marked the last trading session for the first half of the year. We are happy to report the results from the Virtual Value Portfolio started on October 26, 2012.
In slightly more than eight months, our original $100,000 stake has grown to $119,516.95. That includes $1,950.07 in cumulative dividends.

We were busy last week. We 'sold to open' three new option positions in our Virtual Put Selling Portfolio.
Our newly written (sold) Walgreen’s (WAG) put expires on January 18, 2014. The Accenture (ACN) put and Franklin Resources (BEN) put initiated last week have January 17, 2015 expiration dates.
Click on this link to see the current details of our short put positions. We have already closed two positions with profits. One expired, the other we bought back for a fraction of our original sales proceeds (i.e. collected premium for selling the options).
Final profits or losses on short options cannot be calculated until we 'buy to close' or the particular option's expiration date is reached. Until then, we are profitable as long as the current stock price is above the break-even level indicated on our put option selling portfolio page.
